CME Mediation Ethics, Interpersonal Violence & Mediation Processes: 8-hour Program, March 7, 2020

This 8-hour CME program provides mediators with half of their required CME requirements (cane be applied to circuit, family, county, dependency for CME requirements) to report to the Dispute Resolution Center and specifically covers 4 hours of ethics,  2 hours of interpersonal violence and general mediation material. The Primary Trainer is a leading authority in the mediation field: Alexia Georgakopoulos, PhD., a Professor in the Department of Conflict Resolution Studies at Nova Southeastern University who was featured on NBC’s Today Show to discuss peace and she is the editor of the most contemporary handbook in mediation that was recently published by Routledge titled The Mediation Handbook: Theory, Research and Practice. This program is designed to educate you about a variety of mediation theories, principles, and techniques from a variety of mediation models. Other important topics in the program include mediation processes and court processes . Program participants will engage in interactive practical skill building sessions throughout the program. This program prepares individuals to work as professional mediators in a number of contexts. The conflict management strategies learned in this training have the potential to improve the conflict resolution management you need for any type of relationship from personal to professional relationships. The workshops help you understand how to promote self-determination, commitment, and transformation during times of conflict.  Upon completion of this program, participants will receive a completion certificate and an agenda for official completion and reporting.
